This course provides a basic awareness of food hygiene and includes: legislation and policy on food handling; causes of food poisoning; cross contamination; personal hygiene ; dress codes; cleaning and temperature control; pests etc. Residential or domiciliary care workers who are undertaking the Skills for Care Common Induction Standards or NVQ mandatory units in Health and Safety will benefit from this course, and in line with CSCI recommendations for mandatory training should repeat it on a yearly basis.
