In today’s current competitive and demanding business climate, good leadership is pivotal for success, and everywoman, the UK’s leading independent network for women in business is addressing this need with its flagship Leadership Development Programme, a two-day training course aimed specifically at women.
A recent survey* found that the majority of workers thought a friendly office where the manager takes an interest in their work was more important than a high salary, showing how important it is for managers to ensure they are doing the best job they can do for their staff.
The two-day programme, taking place in London on 6 and 7 November aims to build on women’s natural attributes as leaders, as well as focusing on areas where they are less likely to excel, which is often related to confidence. Delegates will learn how to become more comfortable with power and responsibility, be instructed on risk management and making tough decisions, as well as finding out how emotional intelligence and women’s propensity to multi-task can improve team performance.
The Programme has been developed in association with Ros Taylor, one of the UK’s leading business psychologists. It is the culmination of two years of research amongst women in business, HR and diversity leaders, and 80 Chief Executives worldwide.
Karen Gill, co-founder and Director of everywoman comments, “For businesses to really thrive and remain competitive, strong leadership is essential, as a happy workforce of course makes a productive one. We have developed this course to thoroughly address the key attributes women tend to possess that can be built on to develop their leadership skills, whilst focusing on some other areas where we often need help. The course will help draw out the qualities that will lead to success, such as harnessing emotional intelligence in order to improve team performance, and being comfortable with the concept of risk and decision making.”
The everywoman Leadership Development Programme is taking place on 6 and 7 November at The Cadogan Hotel in London and is open for bookings now. Places are limited so to book or for further information please go to www.everywoman.com/leadership
Quotes from previous delegates
“It was really interesting to learn more about my own management style and the ways that other women lead, particularly as there aren’t many other female managers working in the construction industry. Whilst reaffirming my personal leadership skills, the course also helped me to appreciate the benefits of other techniques. The course has definitely improved my outlook.”
Jessica Ward, Customer Focus Manager at United House Ltd.
"I found the modules on how to deal with tricky situations and be a more assertive manager very useful. The course leader was very motivational and this was the first course I've been on where I've not looked at my watch”
Shelley Prior - Account Manager and Team Manager, UK Account Management, The Royal Bank of Scotland Group
