This half day course provides those working in the residential care sector with a basic understanding of Dementia Care clients. We highly recommend combining this course with the Challenging Behaviour course as both modules can be done the same day.

Course contents
• Understand and identify the most common forms of dementia
• Be able to explain and deliver sessions in 'therapeutic management'
Aims and objectives
• Demonstrate an awareness of arteriosclerotic dementia and senile dementia
• To be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of Alzheimer's Disease and its stages of progress
• Be able to implement the dementia behaviour scale and score clients against it and to present your findings
• Patients' rights and our responsibilities as carers
