Moving and Handling for Carers (update)
The morning theory session will re-address the safe principles of moving and handling, legislation and the importance of risk assessment. The afternoon session will reflect on practical skills – including: use of equipment, fitting of slings and identifying the needs of the person and handler, with regard to the equipment.
This session is tailored around the participants who will get the opportunity to discuss with the group any problems they may be having with particular individuals or environments.

Target Group: This course is designed for people who have completed their initial moving and handling training and require an update session. It is advisable that staff update their training annually.
Appropriate clothing and footwear must be worn to participate in the practical session.
