This 2 day course is to give an entry level qualification for experienced domestic heating installers or plumbers, wishing to extend their work scope into solar heating. The course is recognised under the Low Carbon Building Programme for accredited installer status. The candidate should hold a G3 certificate in domestic unvented hot water systems. It is also essential that the trainee holds one ODPM recognised competency in a conventional fuel i.e. gas, oil or solid fuel; or for those in the plumbing field an NVQ level 2 or equivalent plumbing qualification. Experience in basic electrical practice would also be desirable. A basic knowledge of the Water (fittings) regulations is also desirable. The cost includes the certification fee.
Course Content
The course covers system design, integration with existing heating systems, installation and commissioning, covering all major indirect system & panel types. The course is not intended to cover roof or access work in detail (other than to highlight legislative requirements).
