Once you have qualified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage you can progress on to instruction your clients how to maintain their condition in between sessions with you. During this course you will learn about exercises and a simplified version of MLD your clients can do at home. This is called simple lymphatic drainage (SLD).
Often people do not have enough access or help from lymphatic drainage therapists. Session they attend for their conditions are sometimes infrequent and too few. To help patients to help themselves, we as manual lymphatic drainage therapist can help them to self-manage their conditions in the period in between their appointments with other professionals.
A lymphatic drainage session is expensive, and often people who need it most are unable to pay for it privately. It only happens too often that patients come to you for help once a month or once every two months. The work we do during these session is good but the period of having no treatment is simply too long to have a lasting effect or improve their conditions. That is why self-management is so invaluable to those patients.
The course is also open to lay-people or people suffering from lymphoedema, however they will not receive a practitioner’s diploma but will be allowed to practice on themselves, family or friends.
Cost £99 for therapists and £50 for non-therapists
