This course looks at what is negotiation and why do we negotiate. It also makes the delegates aware of the implications of poorly planned negotiations and how this can sometimes end up with a very negative outcome. Preparation is the key and we look at its role and useful tips are given to aid the preparation process. Time is also spent looking at the various styles of negotiation and how personalities impact on this. A large part of the negotiation process is creating common ground and proposing and bargaining which are areas we look at how and when is best to introduce these into a negotiation. This is a very interactive course with a number of role plays giving delegate some very difficult situations to negotiate.
