2.Before we send you the logon information your tutor will contact you, this will usually be within 24 hours (Mon-Fri). Your tutor will discuss the course requirements with you and what you should expect from completing this course.


3.You will be sent the course logon details to your course by email.


4.You will start to work through the course and come across your first Practical Task. If you are not coming in to see your tutor face to face, this task will need to be completed.


5.Practical Task to complete LINE MANAGER’S DECLARATION, this will be returned to your tutor and we will then contact your Line Manager.


6.You will continue to work through the course.


7.Practical Task to complete, you will make contact with your tutor and your tutor will discuss any issues or areas that you wish to discuss.


8.You will continue to work through the course.


9.Practical Task to complete - Accident / Near Miss, this will consolidate your learning so far, and you have to complete a form to be returned to your tutor for review.


10.You will continue to work through the course.


11.Practical Task to complete - Safe Systems of Work, you have the opportunity to further consolidate your learning to date by preparing a safe system of work and returning it to your tutor for review.


12.You will continue to work through the course.


13.Practical Task to complete - Site Safety Inspection, you will consolidate your learning to date by completing a Site Safety Inspection with photographic evidence of your findings and returning this to your tutor for review.


14.You will continue to work through the course.


15.Practical Task to complete, contact your tutor who would have reviewed your site audit / safe system of work , accident near-miss form and discuss your findings and understanding to date.


16.You will continue to work through the course.


17.Practical Task to complete - Asbestos Quiz you get the opportunity to quiz a colleague.


18.You will continue to work through the course.


19.Practical Task to complete - Additional Reading – You will be given links to additional reading for areas that are of particular interest or where you may require clarification.


20.You will continue to work through the course.


21.Your tutor will contact your Line Manager to ensure that he is happy with the progress made.


22.Practical Task to complete – You will be asked to complete a Fire Risk Assessment with photographic evidence. The document needs to be returned to your tutor for review.


23.You will continue to work through the course.


24.Practical Task to complete - Tutor contact – Tutor discusses Asbestos Quiz and Fire Risk Assessment and any issues or misunderstanding that you may have, tutor will talk to you about next modules and next Practical Tasks


25.You will continue to work through the course.


26.Practical Task to complete - Manual Handling Quiz to be returned to your tutor for review.


27.You will continue to work through the course.


28.Practical Task to complete - Working at Height Quiz to be returned to your tutor for review.


29.You will continue to work through the course.


30.Practical Task to complete - You will need to complete the final Site Audit and return completed forms and photographic evidence to your tutor for review. This should consolidate all learning and there should be a marked improvement from the first audit!


31.Practical Task to complete - You need to contact tutor – tutor will discuss Manual Handling and Working at Height tasks as well as the final Site Audit. The tutor will also go through the examination process with you.


32.Your tutor will contact the Line Manager to ensure that he is happy with the progress made.


33.You undertake the exam online, and on successful completion, a basic certificate is issued to say you completed the course.


34.Where applicable, we will apply for the optional QCF Level 1 Certificate of completion from the awarding body, this will be issued as long as you have met all of the requirements to a satisfactory standard

Who should attend?

This Course is designed, not simply as a means of assisting anyone to achieve the CSCS green card status, but as a formal qualification to raise an individual’s understanding, and awareness of the real health and safety issues on site.

What will I be able to do on completion?

The qualification gained at the end of the course can be used to obtain the CSCS Green Labourers Card. Please note that you will also need to also complete and pass the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environmental test at a local test centre, in addition to gaining this qualification to obtain the CSCS Labourers Green Card.

How will I be assessed?

Once you have satisfactorily completed the course content, the examination at the end of the course and the Practical Tasks and had your course verified by the awarding body, you will pay a further £25.00 plus vat to receive the QCF Level 1 Certificate, this certificate is issued by an Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation recognised by the CSCS Scheme. With this certificate, or whilst working towards it, you also need to pass the CITB Operative's Health, Safety and Environmental Test in order to obtain the CSCS Green card. The qualification gained at the end of the course can be used to obtain the CSCS Green Labourers Card.
