What topics are covered by the course?

The finalised module list is yet to be confirmed, however, The topics covered on the course will develop and enhance your practical music skills but also your theoretical knowledge. The course offers a wide range of modules including;
Studio Production
MIDI Sequencing
Listening Skills
Operating Live Sound
Digital Composition
Sampling Techniques
Marketing and Promotion within the Music Industry

The course comprises of a combination of graded and ungraded units, including Study Skills that will support your application to HE courses (Online UCAS application, portfolio building, interview preparation etc.)

Who should attend?

You must have GCSE English Language at grade C or above before joining the course in September 2016. A passion and interest in Music Technology related subject is highly desirable, along with examples of work to be presented during the interview process.

What will I be able to do on completion?

This course will allow you to progress on to degree courses in specific areas of Music Technology at both local and national universities and other Higher Education institutions. Popular HE destinations for our current students include: Wakefield College HND in Popular Music, Leeds Beckett, Huddersfield, Hull College, BIMM.
The course provides opportunities to look at how you can gain careers in the following areas: Live Sound Engineering, Studio Production, Events Management, Radio Production, Film and TV composition.

How will I be assessed?

The course involves a variety of assessment techniques including practical work, written assignments and oral presentations.
