If you would like a career in IT, for example as a PC Technician, Help Desk Technician or PC Support Specialist, then the Network Technician course will provide you with the perfect stepping stone.
The course is made up of two certifications - A+ and Network+. You will cover everything from procedures for installing, configuring and upgrading Windows 95/98 and Windows 2000/XP, to network implementation and support.
What is more, these certifications are sponsered by CompTIA which means that they are recognised by all major computer hardware and software vendors, distributors, resellers and publications. Maybe that is the reason that more than 350,000 people hold these qualifications today - making them the second most popular IT choice after Microsoft Certified Professional!
You will also find that these certifications count towards the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification, which makes this course an excellent starting point for an individual wishing to start a career in IT.

A+ certification means that the individual possesses the knowledge and skills essential for a successful entry-level computer service technician, as defined by experts from companies across the industry. The test covers a broad range of hardware and software technologies, but is not related to any vendor-specific products. To become certified two exams have to be taken - the Core Hardware and the Operating Systems Technologies exams. When both the Core and the Operating Systems exams are passed within 90 calendar days, the candidate receives the A+ designation. Once someone is A+ certified, they retain this designation for life and do not need to become re-certified when an updated exam is released.
