Basic First Aid
The Basic First Aid course is designed to give employees of any level in the caring industry, an appreciation of the fundamental elements of First Aid.
Candidate Suitability
The course is suitable for anyone who wishes to gain a basic knowledge of First Aid and is also ideal as a Refresher course for those who completed a First Aid course more than 3 years ago.
* This course is not to be confused with the Refresher Course required for the First Aid @ Work course.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the candidate will have gained an understanding of the following :
• Introduction to First Aid
• First Aid Legislation
• Accident Book / R.I.D.D.O.R
• Initial Casualty Assessment
• Emergency Action Plan
• Recovery Position
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R)
• Breathing Difficulties - Choking
• Shock
• Bleeding / Bandaging
• Burns and Scalds
• Heart Attack and Stroke
•
Course Duration
The course is conducted over a period of 6 hours, which can be flexible to suit your requirements.
Qualification
Each candidate will be awarded a certificate in First Aid which should be updated every 3 years.
Assessment
The candidates are assessed continuously throughout the course by the tutor on demonstration of practical skills and theory. This is the reason for allowing a maximum of 12 students on each course session.
Course Fees
The price for each session is £350 for a maximum of 12 candidates.
