IRRV Professional Diploma course

What topics are covered by the course?

Candidates choose one of the following two subjects:
Council Tax and Non Domestic Rating Law
or
Welfare Benefits in Local Government

Who should attend?

Potential students must have achieved a pass in the IRRV certificate (formerly Technician Qualification) or NVQ Level 3 in their chosen discipline or they must hold a qualification at least equivalent to A-Level, Scottish Highers or any qualification at Level 3 of the national framework (England and Wales) or Level 6 (Scotland) and have had substantial workplace experience.

What will I be able to do on completion?

This is a practical course designed for both Revenues and Benefits and staff who wish to gain a professional qualification and further their careers.

How will I be assessed?

All students must complete core subjects:
Centrally set assignment
Elective assignment Management (Double unit).
Revenues Administration and Public Sector Finance
Management Case Study
Study is by weekly day release classes 10am - 4pm, starting in October 2014 and finishing in May 2015 (day to be announced). The examinations will be in early June 2015.

Candidates/Students who are not current members must ensure their membership form is completed at the same time as the course booking form which can be found at http://www.irrv.net/Membership/. All Candidates/Students must be registered with the IRRV before the start of the course.Membership and course fees must be paid prior to the commencement of the course.
