| Social Style Certification Course- Windsor (nr Slough) 23/24 Feb 2012 |
This course is based around Salovey and Mayer's conception of Emotional Intelligence which strives to define Emotional Intelligence within the confines of the standard criteria for a new intelligence. Following their continuing research, their initial definition of Emotional Intelligence was revised to
"The ability to perceive emotion, integrate emotion to facilitate thought, understand emotions, and to regulate emotions to promote personal growth.”
Put simply Emotional Intelligence is the ability to recognise our own feelings and those of others, to motivate ourselves, and to manage emotions in ourselves and in our relationships. Knowledge of Emotional Intelligence helps you identify what feels good and bad and how to stay positive.
