What topics are covered by the course?

The morning concentrates on the theoretical knowledge and in order to increase your levels of DSE assessing skills the afternoon concentrates on carrying out assessments.

Have a thorough knowledge of the legal requirements
Understanding the extent of ill health effects from poorly-designed tasks & workstations
Gain an understanding of the effects of slumped posture on the spine (neck, back & shoulders) and how to correct sitting postures of employees they are being assessed
Know which type/design of appliance should be used in order to prevent musculoskeletal injuries
Participants will have the skills and confidence to carry out DSE assessments in the workplace

Who should attend?

Facilities Managers, Health and Safety Managers, Occupational Health Therapists and staff who have been nominated to carryout DSE workstation risk assessments.

What will I be able to do on completion?

Carry out a workstation risk assessment, implement appropriate changes to the workstation.

How will I be assessed?

By submitting a completed workstation risk assessment one week following the course
