The course provides a solid grounding in skills needed to for leadership or management in leisure centres, community recreation, or related fields. Thirty lessons plus practical assignments cover the nature and scope of recreation, leadership principles and practices, fitness and fitness testing, managing recreation facilities, first aid, staff supervision and management, marketing, budgeting, tourism, youth leadership, sports, environmental activities, organising exhibitions and more. This certificate has operated for many years, and graduates have successfully obtained work in the industry.
This would be generally considered equal to or higher than a trade level qualification. Accredited through the International Accreditation and Recognition Council.
* Requirements: Completion of 6 modules (combined nominal duration of at least 600 hours)
* Prerequisites: Year 10, or 1 year of relevant full time work following year 9; or over 21 years of age.
