Following the principles of object orientation, students will learn how to design and implement Visual Basic applications for a PC running Microsoft Windows. They will also learn how to write programs that access data from a database and how to use Active X data objects to access and manipulate data. An additional advanced option is available to enable students to design and implement client/server applications that use a network, discover how to access many different data sources, using Microsoft SQL Server database in particular, and design applications to be shared by multiple users
