The CIW qualification demonstrates that an individual has developed a high level of proficiency in internet-related practices and has gained critical skills necessary to work in a web development environment. Upon completion of the programme students will have an understanding of networking principles, the uses of the internet and key internet technologies, knowledge of web page authoring, the ability to create and manage websites, an understanding of theory, design and practical web construction. For the advanced stage, students will gain skills such how to conduct business on line and the technological issues associated with this, the examination of the strategies and products available for building e-commerce sites, their management and how they complement an existing business infrastructure
