Moving and Handling of People Awareness
Our full day Moving & Handling or 1/2 day refresher training can be delivered at your workplace for groups of between 5 to 12 employees to bring your staff quickly up to date with the latest regulatory changes and current best practice.
This course is designed for all people in the caring professions to increase their awareness of the possible injuries to themselves and to enable them to carry out patient transfer operations safely.

Our course is designed to increase healthcare providers awareness of the possible acute / chronic injuries to themselves and to enable them to carry out client transfer operations safely, with dignity / respect & comfort.
The course syllabus is as follows:
-- Causes of back / shoulder injury
-- Employer / employee legal responsibilities
-- The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992
-- The policy of The Royal College of Nursing
-- Safe back posture
-- Banned lifts
-- Techniques of client transfers
-- Use of transfer aids (if required your own equipment)
-- Workshop on handling difficulties
Our instructors are nurse trainers, members of the National Back Exchange & have been trained by The Royal Society in the Prevention of Accidents.
We can also provide 1/2 day annual refresher training for those employees holding a full certificate but needing to update their skill set.
Numbers on the course are strictly limited to allow time for all delegates to practice the various transfer techniques and use of the transfer aids. The course includes informal discussions, practice in transfer techniques and case studies.
