Upon successful completion students will have gained a fundamental knowledge of the business system and the tools that enable the system to be described. They should be able to identify the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with competency in producing simple logical system designs and play an active part in the SDLC. The student is also taught and encouraged to use a recognised, industry standard Computer Aided Systems Engineering (CASE) tool to help with the design and presentation of the new system. Use of SSADM including interview techniques and fact-finding skills. Use of a CASE tool to provide documentation for new and existing system specifications
