During the course students will be supplied with Microsoft Visual Studio in order to write and compile Visual C++ programs. Following the principles of object orientation, they will learn how to design and implement Visual C++ applications for a PC running Microsoft Windows. They will also learn how to write programs that access data from a database and how to use Active X data objects to access and manipulate data sources. There is an optional advanced stage available that will enable students to design and implement client/server applications that use a network, discover how to access many different data sources, including the Microsoft SQL Server database in particular, and will design applications to be shared by multiple users
