Our joinery course is designed to teach all round carpentry skills and is suitable for anyone, from complete beginners to those with some experience of joinery work. Course members include people who want to undertake their own DIY project or who are wishing to develop a career in carpentry. You will learn how to choose the most suitable wood for each specific job and to handle tools such as planes, chisels and woodcutters used by the trade. Objectives: · Preparation, measuring, cutting and fixing both sheet and stock materials. · Use of power and hand tools. · Construction of framing and studwork. · Undertaking installation of “second fix” materials such as skirting boards and architraves. The course is tutored by an experienced joinery contractor who will ensure that participants graduate with all the necessary skills to undertake complex carpentry tasks, whether at home or on site to industry-accepted standards
