To achieve the Level 2 NVQ in Retail Skills, you will need to complete two mandatory units and four optional units.
Here’s a taste of what each unit covers.
Unit one: Working effectively in own organisation
This unit covers teamwork, dealing with difficulties in the workplace, health and safety at work and learning, training and development.
Unit two: Give customers a positive impression
Unit two covers how to establish effective relationships with customers, respond appropriately to them and communicate with customers to provide essential information.
Unit three (optional): Receive goods and materials into storage
In this unit you will find out all about how to prepare to receive goods and materials and take goods and materials into storage.
Unit four (optional): Keep stock at required levels in a retail environment
This unit covers management of stock levels and dealing with stock, including ordering, stock control systems, product demand and product rotation.
Unit five (optional): Display stock to promote sales to customers in a retail environment
Unit five explores all the essentials of stock display, including planning, deciding on a theme and key safety considerations.
Unit six (optional): Help customers to choose products
Retailers learn how to identify customer’s product requirements, provide information about the features and benefits of products and confirm the customer’s preferences and buying decisions.
Unit seven (optional): Maximise product sales
Learners discover how to increase opportunities to increase retail sales and successfully promote products to customers.
Unit eight (optional): Provide information and advice to customers
In this unit you will find out how to provide information to customers and help customers to resolve complaints.
Unit nine (optional): Process payments for purchases in a retail environment
This unit covers pricing and product information and the process of sales payments.
