Mastering Business and Administration is aimed at people working in administration across all occupations and sectors of employment. It’s ideal if your role involves carrying out a broad range of administrative activities and you work independently with relatively little supervision. It’s vital that your employer knows that you want to achieve the NVQ so that they can support you and consent to an Assessor visiting you at work approximately three times during the course of your studies. In order to achieve the NVQ, you will need to complete the following two mandatory units: Unit 201 - Carry out your responsibilities at work Unit 202 - Work within your business environment Then you will choose to study three of the following optional units: Unit 110 - Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety Unit 203 - Maintain customer relations Unit 211 - Organise and support meetings Unit 214 - Word processing software Unit 215 - Spreadsheet software Unit 216 - Database software Unit 225 - Work effectively with other people

To achieve the Level 2 NVQ in Business and Administration, you will need to complete two mandatory units and then choose to study three optional units. Here’s a taste of what each unit covers. Unit 201: Carry out your responsibilities at work In this unit you will learn how to communicate effectively, accept responsibility for your own work and its delivery, improve your performance at work and behave in a way that encourages effective working. Unit 202: Work within your business environment In this unit you will discover how to work effectively within your organisation, supporting its purpose and values, applying employment rights and responsibilities, respecting diversity and protecting security and confidentiality. Unit 110 (optional): Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety This unit shows you how to identify and deal with hazards and risks to health and safety in the workplace. Unit 203 (optional): Maintain customer relations In this unit you will learn how to deliver, evaluate and improve services to meet customer needs, whether the customers you deal with are internal or external to the organisation that you work for. Unit 211 (optional): Organise and support meetings This unit will help you to prepare for and support meetings in your organisation and assist with follow-up activities. Unit 214 (optional): Word processing software This unit shows you how to create and edit text and documents using word processing software, for example, creating mail merged documents, reports and content for web pages. Unit 215 (optional): Spreadsheet software In this unit you will learn how to use spreadsheet software for a variety of tasks, such as budgeting and producing tables or graphs. Unit 216 (optional): Database software In this unit you will discover how to use software applications to organise and collate related information by modifying databases and creating queries using multiple selection criteria and reports. Unit 225 (optional): Work effectively with other people This unit shows you how to work with other people in a way that achieves agreed business goals and objectives.
