What topics are covered by the course?

This course is designed to increase awareness of the types, causes, signs and symptoms of dementia. It will focus on the care and understanding of a dementia sufferer and will give appropriate skills and techniques that can be used.

Who should attend?

HCAíS, Domiciliary Carers, EMI carers, friends and family that provide care to anyone suffering from dementia.

What will I be able to do on completion?

The delegates will have an increased knowledge of how to support and give attentive care to a person with dementia. They will understand the relevance of best practices and be able to adopt a person centred approach when dealing with dementia. Using interactive techniques and skills the delegates learning will result in enhanced quality of care for the dementia sufferer, their carerís and families.
