* Machine Controller Core Module
This one day module must be completed before attending any other modules. It can be incorporated into your first Machine Controller Course.
* RRV Machine Controller Modules
The Machine Controller Core Module (see above) and the half day RRV Machine Controller Generic Module must be held before attending any other modules.
- Excavator (2days)
- Dumper (1day)
- Lorry (1day)
- Highway Based Multi Purpose Vehicle (1 day)
- ATUV (1 day)
- MEWP (1day)
- Dozer (1day)


* RRV Crane Controller Modules
This half day RRV Machine Controller Generic Module and the 2 day Excavator Module must be held to attend the Excavator Crane module. In addition to this, to attend the tandem lift module, delegates must hold the Excavator Crane Module
and have 120 hours experience as a Crane Controller.
- Excavator Crane (0.5day)
- Tandem Lift (0.5 day)



* RMMM Modules
The Machine Controller Core Modules (see above) must be held before attending any of the following modules.
- Presonnel Carriers e.g (Ego 4/5 or Alumicart 2 days)
- Permaquip Scissor Lifts (1 day)


* Attachment Modules
Delegates must hold competence for the host machine before attending an attachment module. The attachment modules include: All other attachment modules are half a day in duration and include:
- Knuckle Boom Crane (2 days)
- MEWP (1 day)

* All other attachment modules are half a day in duration and include:
- Flail Brush Cutter
- Ballast Brush
- Tamping Head
- Fastclipper
-Rail Cropper
- Trailers
- Sleep Changer
- Excavac
- Drilling/Piling Rig
- Rail Thimble

Who should attend?

These modules are designed to train delegates who are responsible for the setting up and maintaining safe systems of work for On Track Plant (OTP) on Network Rail managed infrastructure. Various modules cover the control of road/rail vehicles and rail-mounted maintenance machines plus the attachments used with either type of machine.

Various modules cover the control of road/rail vehicles and rail-mounted maintenance machines plus the attachments used with either type of machine.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is an ongoing process throughout the course.

Attendance Requirements

Anyone wishing to attend Machine/Crane Controller training
must be 18 years or over and have sponsorship by a Link-up approved organisation with a NCCA Site I.D, a valid PTS and COSS Certificate, a valid medical (as per NR/SP/CTM/021), meet the competence specific medical fitness requirements of NR/L2/ OHS/00124 and a valid Alcohol and Drugs Screening Certificate that meets the requirements of Network Rail Specification NR/L1/ OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol).
In addition to the general attendance requirements outlined above there are also specific requirements for each module. Details of these can be provided by our Customer Service Team details.

Additional Information

The maximum number of delegates that can attend each module is 4 (with the exception of the Machine Controller Core module which can take up to 8).
