Who should attend?

Anyone who is required to carry out Hand Signaller duties when the normal operation of traffic and signalling systems is interrupted by engineering and other activies.

What will I be able to do on completion?

To train staff to be competent to give hand signals and instructions to the relevant personnel due to signal defects, including temporary block working and single line working.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is an ongoing process throughout the course.

Attendance Requirements

Delegates must be at least 18 years of age and have sponsorship by a Link-up approved organisation with an NCCA Site I.D, a valid Sentinel PTS Card Endorsed with either COSS or IWA, normal Colour Vision, a valid Network Rail approved medical certificate and negative alcohol and drugs screening certificate.

Additional Information

Delegates successfully completing the course will be awarded a Sentinel Card endorsed Hand Signaller (valid for 2 years). The Sentinel Card is issued by the NCCA (an organisation that operates on behalf of Network Rail) and may take up to 10 days to arrive.
