Rendering, Plasterboarding & Skimming
Construction Skills Training has devised this 10 day INTENSIVE course to provide you with a complete overview of the plastering trades. The course has been specifically designed to both introduce and teach you to render, erect plasterboards and plaster to City & Guilds standards. Whether you are a complete beginner or someone who has limited knowledge of plastering this course has been specifically designed to not only provide you with an insight into the practical skills required for plastering but to build your confidence and knowledge by involving you throughout every stage of this intensive hands-on practical course.
· Apply your first coat render with a keyed finish using lamitex.
· Apply your second coat render and to level off with a feather edge.
· Apply a rough scratch finish using a float.
· Apply corner beads to pillars using lamitex.
· To cut & fix plaster board to walls and ceilings
· To tape standard and internal joints.
· To cut and fix angle beads around windows.
· To mix plastering materials to correct consistency.
· To apply PVA adhesive Unibond to existing surfaces.
· To prepare surfaces before plastering using finishing plaster
ensuring a flat polished finish.
· To skim walls and ceilings.
