Specialised Tiling
This ten day specialised course is designed to equip you with many of the skills required wall and floor tiling and to build your confidence and knowledge. The course will give you a great insight to tools and techniques applied for tiling.
The course covers the following:
* An introduction to the tools required for the job
* Cutting tiles using hand and power tools
* Removal of existing flooring using power tools
* How to repair floors using self-leveller
* Working out patterns and where to start the cuts
* Cutting tiles around obstacles
* Applying adhesives and laying tiles using spacers
* Laying first tiles and cuts
* Laying wall tiles and working out patterns
* Laying floor tiles using adhesive and spacers
* Laying wall and floor tiles on steps
* Tiling on pillars
* Cutting around corners using edging and spacers
* How to use mitre tools for both tiles and trims
* How to set out, cut and lay floor and wall boarder tiles effectively
* Grouting and finishing off with a sponge

Our instructors work in small groups to ensure you have the full attention and support and receive the highest training standard as possible. They will also demonstrate and explain the tools and material used.
The training is provided in our purpose built construction training centre, which adheres to City & Guilds requirements; this ensures the standard of training given by our highly skilled instructors is of the highest quality and is equal to everyone, regardless of age, ability or gender.
