This course provides essential training in safe methods of lifting and carrying for those employees who undertake manual handling activities, thereby reducing the risk of injury and costly absenteeism.
Aim of the Course
To provide sufficient knowledge and practical demonstrations in manual handling techniques. Which helps candidates to avoid injury and to comply with legislation.
Syllabus
All aspects of safe manual handling are covered within this course. Whether we are delivering the course for a single employer or to mixed industry groups, we are able to directly relate to the known handling problems encountered within the workplace, and tailor the sessions accordingly. We show candidates suitable safe methods of handling and how they can be simply applied to avoid injury.
Duration
This is a half day course, with the option, if necessary, of extension to a full day to include a manual handling assessment workshop where required. The course may be undertaken at our training facility or, if there are sufficient candidate numbers, on your own premises.
Who should attend?
All employees carrying out handling tasks should attend. In particular, warehouse staff, order pickers, post room personnel, production and maintenance workers, care assistants, construction workers etc.
Qualification
All participants will receive a Manual Handling Certificate of training. This course should be repeated periodically to ensure skills are retained.
