Two Day Lock Opening Course

Day One

The student will understand the workings of general pin tumbler type locks ie Yale etc and also profile cylinders Euro and Oval that are widely used. We also cover disc locks and padlocks. Methods used will be hook pick, rake, mechanical pick gun, electronic pick gun, various types and various tension tools will be shown, all locks will be demonstrated.

Day Two

The lever lock opening day. Students will understand the workings of lever locks, how levers and keys work and how to change lever packs. The opening techniques used in the lower grade locks from rim to 5 lever non British Standard. We will go on to use curtain picking techniques on British Standard locks. You will see demonstrated the drill template kit which our chief instructor designed many years ago and since been copied by lots of companies. Also pin and cam systems and many more techniques will be shown throughout the day.

This will be an enjoyable 2 day course, the student will come away with a good knowledge of pin tumbler and lever locks. This is not designed to turn the student into a locksmith but a lock opener, which is all that is required by many different trades.

Two Day Lock Opening Course

Suitable for carpenters, general maintenance trades and Local Authorities who have problems with locked doors. This course teaches opening techniques on many of the day to day locks these tradesmen are confronted with.

This is a high quality in-depth opening course teaching just the opening aspect of locks. On completion, the student will feel confident and have a good working knowledge of tools required. This training will be an asset to them or their employers. Also, a large saving can be made with repairs to doors etc that at present have to be damaged to open.

Free tea & coffee will be available throughout the day. This training will be conducted in a state-of-the art workshop, fully equipped and in a pleasant atmosphere. There will be no examination on completion of this training, the student will achieve results as they go along. We will also issue a certificate of completion on the final day of the course.

This introduction to Locksmithing is however of use to the carpentry trade, general maintenance companies and Local Authorities who carry out repairs on properties and need to gain entry etc
