The Intermediate Construction Award (ICA) Plastering Course is designed to prepare people for work in a plastering occupation. This Plastering Course has been specifically developed for delivery in a training environment using simulated conditions and the assessment is based on candidates showing what they can do. Each ICA route comprises: Core Units; Occupation-specific Units and Phase Tests. Each unit within a particular route is mandatory and covers one group of skills. To gain the award, candidates have to be successful in all units and the phase test, but each unit achieved will be recorded. They must also pass an independant health and safety test and separate knowledge test. Another important feature of the ICA is that it provides a progression route towards achieving a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at Level 2. Units within an ICA route relate to the units within the relevant construction NVQ. The Units you must complete to achieve this award are as follows:- ICA 100 Store materials and equipment ICA 101 Erect and dismantle basic working platforms ICA 102 Work efficiently ICA 116 Fix Sheet materials ICA 117 Internal solid plastering ICA 118 External solid plastering ICA 119 Floor screeding ICA 120 Dry lining - direct bond ICA 121 Basic fibrous plastering ICA 122 Basic repair to fibrous plastering
