The Manual Payroll (Level 2) programme is geared towards delegates who are working in the payroll function and require a formal training and qualification. It is also designed for those who wish to pursue a career in payroll but currently possess a recognised qualification in a related discipline such as Accounting or Business Administration. Manual payroll provides the knowledge and understanding required to run an efficient payroll system. The main areas covered in the syllabus are:  Calculating statutory deductions (Income Tax and National Insurance)  Preparing payslips, paying employees and making payments to IR  Processing employees starting and leaving employment  Calculating Statutory Sick Pay and Statutory Maternity Pay  Calculating other pay (benefits in kind)  Making other deductions from employees’ pay (Student Loan Deductions etc).
