The Leasehold Valuation Tribunal (LVT), currently under the umbrella of the Residential Property Tribunal Service, has had its jurisdiction, and hence its importance, vastly increased by the Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Act 2002.
The LVT now has the jurisdiction to decide matters arising in enfranchisement and lease extension disputes, most aspects of service charge cases, as well as many other issues concerning long residential leases, including the power to vary terms. |
