The Assessor awards, commonly known as the Assessor Units A1, are nationally recognised and widely used competence based qualifications demonstrating that you have achieved the necessary skill and competence in the various aspects of assessment.
In order to complete any of the Assessor units you will need to have access to real NVQ candidates in your workplace. You will require 2 real live candidates who are working towards their NVQ in your sector
How long will this award take me to achieve?
You are given 18 months to achieve this award. On past experiences we envisage it taking about 3 months.
How much time will I have to devote to this award per month?
All we ask that you devote a minimum of 4 hours over the course of each month to assessing your candidate and attend the college or in your workplace for a total of 2 days training in total.
All candidates for NVQ are to be given equality of access to fair assessment.

This unit specifies what you will need to achieve as an assessor who has to collect and judge evidence of competence from a variety of sources. This will include making judgements on evidence provided by others, including the candidates and the candidate’s peers.
