The law requires alcohol sales on any licensed premises to be made or authorised by a personal licence holder.
Individuals applying for a personal licence must hold an accredited licensing qualification such as the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH).

To achieve the qualification you will have 40 minutes to correctly answer 28 or more questions from a 40 question multiple choice examination.
To help you achieve this we offer a one day training session and support materials which are available for you to study at home before coming to see us.
The course includes:
• How to avoid receiving fines or a review of your premises licence
• Maintaining a good reputation with the authorities
• When alcohol should not be sold and other licensing offences
• Why personal licence holders should train their staff
• How to apply for a premises licence or a temporary event notice
• The role of the designated premises supervisor
• How the authorities enforce the Licensing Act 2003
• Responsible alcohol retailing
• The effects of alcohol on the human body
Personal licence holders are often the managers and business owners for licensed premises and as such the Achilles UK course is designed to help people retain the principles long after they have achieved their qualification.
The role of a personal licence holder means the qualification subject matter often has to be passed on to their colleagues when our clients return to their workplace after the course.
