The IOA Certificate of Competence in Workplace Noise Assessment has been designed to enable you to assess the noise hazards in a workplace, identify means of reducing exposure and to advise and assist employers to meet the requirements of the Noise at Work Regulations 2005.

To achieve the IOA Certificate of Competence in workplace Noise Assessment, you will need to successfully complete the following elements:
· The current regulations relating to noise at work.
· How to carry out and report measurements of noise levels in workplaces.
· Assessment of daily noise exposure levels of employees from information about measured noise levels and work patterns.
· Selection of suitable and effective hearing protectors.
· Basic noise control techniques and identification of areas where noise reduction is required.
· Assessment of the effectiveness of any noise control measures.
