Up To Speed runs the only NCTJ accredited Fast-Track course in the country starting in July. That means you can take NCTJ exams before Christmas and qualify in the same year that you graduate, or leave school. And our location on the South coast makes Up To Speed the ideal place to study in the summer months.

Up To Speed is offering the UK’s first Fast-Track Multi-Media Journalism course. You spend 18 weeks studying on our NCTJ-accredited Newspaper Journalism course, taking exams in News Writing, Law, Public Affairs and Shorthand. Then, equipped with those skills, you devote four weeks to training as an Online Journalist, learning web and video skills and taking the NCTJ’s new exams in those subjects. These skills are vital as newspapers increasingly need qualified journalists capable of working for both their print and online editions.

And when you leave us and become a journalist, you’ll be able to do some, or all, of those things every day of your working life.

"I now have a much better understanding of how the news really works. The teaching is excellent and I have enjoyed every aspect of the course - even if it is really hard work!"

Sophia Hough, Up To Speed Fast-Track student.

With our help, you’ll soon be “up to speed”.
