This highly rewarding course assumes no prior knowledge of the subjects and as such, is open to all.
You will need to show some evidence of the ability and willingness to undertake the necessary study and all students are required to have sufficient emotional maturity to be able to cope with the course requirements. You should also be able to demonstrate appropriate interest, enthusiasm and life experience and to show aptitude and potential for study both at home and on course weekends.
Anyone who wishes to become a therapist requires thorough and comprehensive training. Carelines’ integrative hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and counselling course is designed to meet the latest requirements of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR).
Students will be encouraged and supported to develop their own counselling approach according to the integrative principles we teach.
This course delivers the level of information and learning material required to achieve this and is taught in an engaging, professional, relaxed and informative way. You will bring the skills and aptitude to make is a success!
Our training includes a study of psychology, the theories and methods of psychotherapy, as well as a wide variety of hypno-therapeutic techniques. Many people have reservations about returning to learning, our students soon learn how to put that behind them. Our approach to learning is based on your prefreed learning style and combines the use of reading, watching experts demonstrate techniques, practicing with other students (and perhaps friends and familiy) as well as watching video and group discussions.
All students are expected to take full case histories, to maintain confidential records and to communicate with practitioners engaged in other fields of therapy. Throughout the training there will be an emphasis on; self-awareness, personal growth and development. Most studentsd report that "this course has changed my life."
The practice of co-counselling is encouraged and supported. Students will be required to complete case studies between the course weekends. Opportunities are given for students to present and offer case histories for open discussion by peers and tutors.
Students are also encouraged to meet regularly between the course weekends to enhance their skills and benefit from the exchange of information with other students and those who are already working in the caring professions. Study groups are run for this purpose.
The course is taught and supervised by tutors who are all professional practitioners. Guest lecturers who specialise in a particular field are also invited to provide course instruction from time to time.
The taught component of this course is conducted at weekends; one weekend per month, for eight months. The training days are from 10.00am until 5.00pm.
