This course is designed around your policies and practices, to make the training more relevant and meaningful.The objectives of the course are: - to provide information about the current fundamental principles of UK discrimination legislation - to identify the grounds on which discrimination can occur - to clarify the many forms that harassment can take - to encourage employees to recognise, understand and reject stereotyped assumptions, prejudice and negative attitudes towards certain people or groups - to consider the use of inclusive language - to raise awareness of the employer's policies and procedures relating to equality and the prevention of discrimination, and their underlying values. Practical exercises relevant to your workplace, and the issues you face, will be used to familiarise your employees with your equal opportunities policies.

Courses are designed and delivered by Clare Fraser, who has been advising on discrimination for over ten years. She originally practised employment law at one of Scotland's leading law firms, where she acted for employers and employees in discrimination and equal pay cases. She also lectured in an Employment Law Masters Course at one of Scotland's largest universities. Since going freelance, Clare has advised with private and public sector organisations on equality and diversity, including designing and delivering tailored training. Clare has the necessary understanding of discrimination legislation, and experience in HR consultancy to advise you on making equal opportunities a reality.
