2 Day Activity First Aid - Level 2 Q.C.F Vocational Award

This course is designed for people who work in Sports & Leisure & Recreation, and provides employers with the option of providing their employees with a nationally recognised vocational qualification in Activity First Aid. The Qualification also satisfies the requirements to provide “Emergency First Aid at Work” cover as required by the H.S.E, subject to the employers Workplace First Aid Risk Assessment.

This qualification is made up of two units including Emergency First Aid at Work. It is specifically designed for those who are involved in any form of activity, including sports, leisure and recreation. Not only is Basic Life Support included, but many other First Aid conditions are also covered, making this qualification very comprehensive.

DURATION
A minimum of 12 hours makes up this unit consisting of theoretical and practical work.

CERTIFICATION
Assessment is ongoing by the instructor along with a multiple choice question paper, and a three year qualification will be issued to the learner, subject to assessment.

NUMBERS
A maximum of 24* students can be accommodated on this course (*13+students will be supported by two qualified instructors)

AGE LIMIT
Students must be a minimum of 14 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment. The Unit 1 Award for successful completion of the Day One course is equivalent to the one-day Level 2 (Level 5 in Scotland) Emergency First Aid at Work qualification. However, a student cannot claim the official title of ‘Emergency First Aider in the Workplace’ until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role. The certificate will expire as dated on the certificate, irrespective of age.
