Assessment
The diploma comprises seven mandatory core units and further optional units. There are 360 contact hours and a further 150 hours teaching practice, observed over a minimum of eight hours over eight occasions.
The assessment methods comprise a range of creative and innovative theory and practical tasks, with a focus on ‘hands-on’ skill development.
Completion of two assignments, one theory and one practical for each of the core units, plus those specified for optional unit(s).

Qualification\course structure:
The course is delivered within 12 months and includes a number of themed training days, guided self study, teaching observations and support with assignments. Collaborative and individual learning is supported with personal and e.tutorials, group workshops and e.learning.
The qualification is structured as a core and options model, supporting the development and acquisition of the skills, knowledge and practice required of the ‘full’ teaching role.
Duration: 12 day programme delivered via one day workshops/Saturday schools and/or on-line tutorials

Ofqual accredited: Yes
Prerequisite: Level 4 Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS)
Suggested progression: TAQA qualifications ie: Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) or Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes & Practice (IQA)
