This comprehensive three day course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. This course will give the participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981

DURATION
A minimum of 18 hours spread over at least three days. Ideally, the course should be run over three consecutive days, but we have the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs if you so desire.

SYLLABUS
A range of subjects is covered including:
Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
Assessment of the situation
Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
Fractures and spinal injuries
Shock (including Anaphylaxis)
Control of bleeding
Resuscitation
Bandaging
Heart attacks, Choking, Head injuries, Eye injuries, Poisoning, Chest injuries, Strains, Sprains, Burns, Asthma, Diabetes and Epilepsy

If your organisation has a specific area of training that is not included, or you require a more in-depth session, then we can accommodate you by providing additional training in that particular subject.

ASSESSMENT AND MARKING
All students will be assessed by a multi choice examination followed by a practical assessment by an independent assessors on the ability to act safely, promptly and effectively for a casualty who is unresponsive, requires CPR and who is wounded and bleeding .

CERTIFICATION
Subject to assessment, all participants will be issued with a First Aid at Work certificate approved by the Health and Safety Executive. This qualification is valid for three years which can be re-newed by attending a suitable Two-Day re-qualification course. The HSE strongly recommends that all First Aiders attend an annual refresher programme of minimum three hours duration.
