BTEC Award in Social Media for Business (accredited)
This course addresses the relevant knowledge, skills, understanding and application required for social media, a key element in the role of the digital marketer. Social media has become integrated into our everyday lives and is concerned with online marketing and the use of relevant online networks in order to get required marketing messages to the right clients.
In this course, you will understand the fundamental principles of marketing, the digital marketing mix and gain an awareness of customer profiles and behaviour. You will develop an understanding of different marketing channels and how social media can be effectively used alongside other channels, as well as the different digital marketing tools available.
You will understand the use of those channels for market research, for gathering feedback from customers and for creating awareness of new products and services, as well as positive word of mouth publicity.
Your mentor will show you how to investigate different social networks and learn how to obtain required results from the use of social media. They will also show you how to plan and prepare social media campaigns and use the relevant tools available for effective monitoring and evaluation of those campaigns, ensuring the appropriate management of an organisation’s reputation.
The possibility of negative publicity can be damaging to a business so learners will see how crises can be avoided through the use of reputation management. This unit is the only unit in the BTEC Award in Social Media and it covers all the requirements to achieve the qualification.
