Providing one of the fastest growing specialities in the world of cosmetology, a manicurist is a person who cleans, trims, and polishes fingernails for a living, as well as offering clients pedicures, which involve the same process to beautify toenails.

Every Nail Technician should be able to provide a basic manicure service for their clients. A good Nail Technicians will be skilled in both Manicure and Pedicure.
The best Nail Techs will mould these basic services into the ultimate in luxury nail services by adding those special touches that bring their clients back for more, time after time. You not only learn the how to perform regular manicure and pedicure treatments, but also those special, pampering services that will bring you more clients and extra income.

The course follows the requirements for the UK NVQ syllabus. The course is flexible, allowing you to choose to learn manicure, Pedicure or both. No matter what you choose, you get the same comprehensive course that will teach you how to perform a manicure and Pedicure to a professional standard. The course is studied by distance learning, at your own pace from the comfort of your own home. There is no trekking around to classes or stressful examinations!

Home study

Comprehensive course manuals and DVD's are provided for home study.Your experienced personal tutor is available online and over the phone, ready to help you with all the guidance and motivation you need.

There are two course options:

1. Spa Manicure and Pedicure Course including Assessment and Certification + Foot Spa
This is the full course, including a luxurious foot spa (which is not strictly necessary to have for training purposes), for students wishing to incorporate it into their Pedicure routines. It provides an additional touch of bubbling luxury during the soaking process.

2. Spa Manicure and Pedicure Course including Assessment and Certification.
As 1 above, but without the foot spa.

Assessments

You will be required to complete a comprehensive workbook and a set of question papers that you work through when treating your clients or models. You learn the routines as shown on the course DVD(s), and using a model of your choice, take progress photographs as you work through the treatment, which you save in your work book. You send your completed paperwork back to your assessor for assessment.
