This module will enable healthcare professionals to:
Analyse factors contributing to the morbidity of asthma in the UK
Compare/contrast normal airways and asthmatic airways
Evaluate how asthma treatment is arranged related to current expert guidelines
Analyse the issues of intentional and non-intentional non-adherence in asthma management
Identify the major advantages/disadvantages of the major types of inhaler device and demonstrate appropriate selection of a device for a specific patient
Discuss evidence pertaining to asthma action plans and consider this evidence within the context of the selected patient
Analyse issues related to admission avoidance and community triage/treatment
