This one day course is suitable for students who have completed a first degree Reiki course, either with the Aurora Reiki Centre or with another teacher.
In the morning, we review the material from Reiki one, and students are given time to both practice and receive treatments. Afterwards, the Reiki II attunements are given, and we break for lunch.
The class regroups in the early afternoon, and students are provided with drawings of the three healing symbols which are used in the practice of second degree Reiki. The symbols are a unique and powerful aspect of Reiki II; the use of them in treatment increases the strength of the Reiki energy, and directs it in specific ways. The symbols are pictoral drawings with Japanese names; two are derived from Tendai Buddhism, while one is a sentence drawn in Japanese Kanji.
The symbols are transcendental in nature, and my be used either during therapeutic practice, self-treatment or meditation. They may be used for a variety of purposes: to increase the strength of a Reiki treatment, to clear a space of negativity, to protect the practitioner in times of distress, to facilitate mental and emotional healing, to break bad habits and transform unhappy situations, to manifest goals and aspirations, and to send Reiki across the distances of space and time.
After a discussion of the Reiki II symbols, students take time to practice using them during treatment. It is not necessary to memorise the symbols during class; students may use their notes and textbooks freely.
A good portion of the afternoon is devoted to the demonstration and practice of a variety of Japanese and western Reiki techniques, including distance healing (enkaku chiryo), scanning (byosen) and many more.
After completion of this course students will be, with practice, fully qualified to work as professional Reiki therapists, should they choose to do so. For those who are interested in working professionally, we will cover the practicalities of starting up and maintaining a therapeutic practice.
An extensive course manual, Reiki: The Healing Touch is provided for each student, as well as a certificate of completion. Follow up support is also provided for all students, should the need arise. The centre hosts a monthly Reiki share, where practitioners of all levels and lineages may come to exchange treatments; all students are encouraged to attend. Private consultations are also available.
The tuition fee for Reiki II is £130. Bookings may be secured by a deposit of £65, the remainder of the balance being payable on the course date.
