How you will learn
The qualification is based on actual work-based performance. Your Assessor will work with you to plan and assess your practical work in the workplace. The bulk of your learning will therefore be in the workplace, but training and support will be provided to ensure that you are meeting the required standard. You will work on a one-to-one basis with your Assessor, whose visits will be flexible to meet your needs and the needs of your employer.
How you will be assessed
There are no examinations. You will be allocated an Assessor who will visit you in your workplace and observe you carrying out your daily tasks and duties. You will be required to compile a portfolio of evidence of your competence and knowledge, which your Assessor will help you to prepare. There may also be written assignments to complete.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, but you need to be employed in an appropriate role within the health sector.
Attendance
Your Assessor will need to meet with you regularly to monitor your progress and to plan your assessment sessions. These meetings can take place either at your workplace or on College premises.
