This one day course concentrates on non-harmful techniques in order to de-escalate and manage aggressive situations. The course aims to equip staff with skills to deal with conflict or aggression at work. By the end of the session, the participants will be able to identify the legislative issues that surround violence & aggression in the work place and recognise the different types of behaviour that may indicate someone is becoming more aggressive and may present a physical threat to them or others. The course then concentrates on the communication skills that are necessary to utilise correctly in order to de-escalate a potentially violent situation. The course then teaches a range of non-harmful, safe techniques that can be utilised break-away from a variety of holds whilst standing, sitting, or knelt. |
