CTLLS Level 4 - Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector
The Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS) programme is specifically designed to develop your teaching skills from PTLLS, in the lifelong learning sector.
The course is available at level 4. At level 4, you will be expected to research and analyse teaching and learning theories. This means you will be required to read from relevant authors and reference your assignments using the Harvard referencing system.
The ONLINE DISTANCE LEARNING course has been specifically designed for learners who are too busy to attend a classroom course, and want to fit learning in around their already busy lifestyle. It has been developed to maximise on your teaching and learning experiences - past, current and future.
Why waste time sitting through pointless classroom sessions, when you could be spending the time getting on with your assignments and coursework instead? As a practising teacher, you should be delivering effective teaching and learning already - your assignments and coursework will require you to reflect on this and link them to proven theory.
You set the pace of your course, and this can be as fast or as slow as you like. You will be given access to our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) where ALL of your assignments, activities, indicative reading and guidelines on how to complete the course are held.
Of course, you can expect full Tutor support and guidance through email (24hrs a day). You will also have the opportunity to submit your work for proof reading to your Tutor through our VLE, and receive accurate feedback to ensure you produce the best results.
There are a number of ways in which you can produce evidence of your work. These include using:
Video Media
Audio Recording
Written Assignments
Activity Worksheets
Peer Observation Reports
Professional Observation Reports
Witness Testimonies
Produced Evidence (Lesson Plans etc)
You should expect to dedicate 120 hours of your time towards this course. This includes 1-2-1 tutorials with your Tutor, 30 hours teaching practice and 4 x 1 hour teaching observations (120 hours is an estimated guideline, and the amount of time taken to complete the course will depend on your commitment and learning style).
You will need access to a Mentor in your workplace, who is a subject specialist in your area and / or holds a teaching qualification (minimum CTLLS Level 4). They will be responsible for supporting your development as a Teacher whilst on the course.
Your 4 x 1 hour observations can be carried out by your mentor too, using your establishments lesson observation / quality assurance systems and processes. If you don't have these systems in place, then we can observe you instead. (This will incur an extra cost - please contact us for details).
We at Concept Teaching Academy will develop you to quickly become experts in your field of teaching, and allowing you to confidently deliver your skills and knowledge to your learners.
