The course is a fast track programme which starts with a full days training (or equivalent) followed by individualised personal tutorials, e_learning, additional training days, group workshops and e_workshops. To achieve the CTLLS Certificate you need to complete enough units to gain 24 credits. These units are PTLLS (6 credits), Planning and Enabling Learning (9 credits), Principles and Practice of Assessment (3 credits) and optional units to the value of 6 credits.
The course has been designed to enable you to adopt an integrated approach to the theory and practice of teaching and reflect on previous/current levels of experience, practice and skills, and areas for development.

Assessment:
The certificate comprises three mandatory core units and further optional unit(s). You will have a minimum of 120 hours taught time, and are expected to undertake a further 120 hours of personal study, which includes 30 hours of mandatory teaching practice on a one-to-one or group basis. Your teaching practice will be observed for at least three hours, over a minimum of three occasions. You will need to complete two assignments, one theory and one practical, for each of the core units, plus those specified for your optional unit(s).
The duration of the course is dependent upon the individual needs and experience of the learner.
